On Wednesday, March 30 from 3:00
– 4:30, five MSUB faculty members will be presenting overviews of their current
research projects in LA 205. Sponsored by the Women’s Faculty Caucus and
supported by the Women’s and Gender Studies Center, the program features
faculty from a wide variety of disciplines who will present their research in
10 minutes. There will be time for questions and discussion following the
presentations, along with a reception. The event is free and open to the public.
The program features the
following scholars and topics. Dr. Nisha Bellinger, Assistant Professor, Department
of Social Sciences and Cultural Studies will speak on “The Politics of Health
Outcomes.” Dr. Melissa
Boehm, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication and Theatre will
discuss a recent project, “The Framing of Dialysis in ABC News Transcripts from
2005 to 2015: A Content and Textual Analysis.” Jodi Lightner, M.F.A. Assistant
Professor of Art, Painting and Drawing will explore her current body of work, “Reinventing Self.” Michele
McMullen, University Lecturer, Department of Biological & Physical Sciences
will present, “The Trip Down Food Guide Lane: A Retrospective,” and Dr. Katey
Plymesser, Assistant Professor, Department of Biological and Physical Sciences
will discuss, “Engineering a Community of Learners: Lessons from Mentoring in
Kenya.”
