The
Women’s and Gender Studies Center would like to invite the campus and wider
community to an open house on Tuesday, April 21 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m in LA 201.
The event celebrates the official opening of the Women’s and Gender Studies
Center, which was approved by the Montana Board of Regents in November 2014.
From 4:00 – 4:30 p.m. the center will also host an open roundtable discussion
to focus on issues relevant to women on campus, women’s and gender studies, the
campus climate survey, and policies which impact women on a local, state and
national level.
The Center supports programs and research which
examines the status, expectations and achievements of women on a local,
regional and national level. The WGSC is committed to providing support,
programs and resources related to women and education, career opportunities,
women’s health, elevating the image and self-esteem of women and promoting
gender equality. Through close cooperation with faculty, staff, students
and the larger community, the Women’s and Gender Studies Center is dedicated to
promoting equality and social justice in all forms while focusing on the needs
of women at MSU Billings and in the community.
